We’re seeking a Systems Engineer I (SE-1) to join our team supporting large-scale Linux-based mission systems. In this role, you’ll contribute to a range of tasks—from developing documentation and managing system requirements to supporting security posture and administrative operations within both on-prem and cloud environments.
This position offers an opportunity to build foundational systems engineering experience while working alongside highly skilled professionals in a high-impact environment.
As a Systems Engineer I, you will support end-to-end system lifecycle activities, including requirements management, interface definition, performance monitoring, and documentation. You’ll help maintain the security and operational integrity of multiple mission systems while engaging in cross-functional collaboration and real-time troubleshooting. This is a highly dynamic role well-suited for early-career professionals with a strong interest in systems administration, cyber hygiene, and secure engineering best practices.
- Manage and derive system requirements to support compatibility with defined architecture frameworks (e.g., DoDAF, SOA)
- Support the development of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents
- Participate in design reviews, program reviews, and Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings to resolve cross-discipline action items
- Allocate process and error budgets to system components and contribute to architecture development
- Define system verification methods and assist in developing test plans
- Support interface definition and design changes across engineering and operations teams
- Assist in maintaining operational security posture across multiple Linux mission systems
- Participate in establishing requirements and functional baselines for system components
- Develop scripts using Bash and Python to support automation and monitoring
- Prepare security documentation including System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, and SRTMs
- Use corporate tools such as LatteArt, Xacta, Biscotti, SEAR, UAM, and CYBORGBUNNY to track and report system security information
- Scripting & Automation: Bash, Python
- Operating Systems: Linux (system administration and monitoring)
- Security & Documentation: SSPs, SRTMs, Risk Assessments, Certification & Accreditation
- Security Tools: LatteArt, Xacta, SEAR, Biscotti, CYBORGBUNNY, UAM
- Version Control: Git
- Engineering Processes: Configuration Management, DoDAF, SOA frameworks
- Collaboration Tools: JIRA, Confluence (Atlassian suite)
Qualifications:
Minimum Required:
- Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline OR equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of relevant systems engineering or Linux system administration experience
- Familiarity with Agile project environments and ticket tracking workflows
- Exposure to cross-domain environments and mission assurance procedures
- Experience documenting technical artifacts and traceability matrices
- Working knowledge of interface control and systems testing methodologies
Compensation Range: $177,000.00 - $196,000.00
