DevOps Systems Engineer (Prime)

Annapolis Junction, MD
Full Time
Mid Level

Make an Impact Where It Matters Most

At Intelliforce, we build and sustain the platforms that mission applications depend on every day. In this role, you will support Analytical Application team by helping keep systems secure, interoperable, automated, and ready for operational use.

You will work across systems engineering, software engineering, Information Assurance, testing, and DevOps to sustain mission capabilities and improve how applications move through development, integration, and production environments. A major focus will be maintaining reliable data flows between upstream and downstream systems while helping modernize applications.

This is a strong fit for an engineer who understands that successful DevOps is more than pipelines. It is the combination of automation, infrastructure, integration, security, observability, and engineering discipline needed to keep mission systems working together.

What Makes This Opportunity Stand Out

This role sits at the intersection of platform engineering and mission integration. You will work on the technical foundation that allows applications, services, and data flows to operate together across a larger enterprise environment.

You will help sustain existing capabilities while also refactoring and modernizing systems for greater interoperability within the platform. That means working across CI/CD, containerized environments, infrastructure automation, Linux systems, security compliance, data flows, and application integration rather than staying confined to one layer of the stack.

At Intelliforce, your work is visible and your technical judgment matters. Because we support prime programs, our engineers stay close to the mission and the teams relying on these systems. Because we are a small business, leadership is accessible, communication is direct, and strong engineering gets noticed. Add in long-term stability, strong benefits, and a people-first culture, and this is an opportunity to have real influence over how a mission platform is built, integrated, and sustained.

Here’s What Your Day-to-Day Could Include

  • Provide DevOps, systems engineering, software engineering, IA, and testing support across environments
  • Sustain production capabilities and maintain interoperability with upstream and downstream systems
  • Monitor and troubleshoot system data flows across integrated mission platforms
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines that support repeatable build, test, integration, and deployment workflows
  • Automate infrastructure and operational tasks to reduce manual effort and improve consistency
  • Support containerized applications and platform services using Kubernetes and Docker
  • Work with development teams to refactor applications and services for deployment within the platform
  • Maintain standards and policy compliance across supported systems
  • Support secure configuration, patching, hardening, and lifecycle sustainment activities
  • Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, integration, and deployment issues across development and production environments
  • Develop scripts and automation to improve platform reliability and repeatability
  • Support observability through centralized logging, metrics, dashboards, and alerting
  • Participate in system integration, verification, testing, and release activities
  • Maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, configuration information, and operational runbooks
  • Coordinate with developers, system engineers, security teams, testers, and mission stakeholders to resolve technical issues and improve platform reliability

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Five additional years of Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree
  • Experience supporting integrated software and systems environments through development, deployment, and sustainment

  • Experience troubleshooting distributed applications, infrastructure, and system integrations
  • Experience maintaining interoperability between upstream and downstream systems
  • Understanding of system data flows and service-to-service dependencies
  • Experience supporting software and infrastructure sustainment activities
  • Experience working within security and compliance requirements
  • Experience with system integration, testing, and release support
  • Ability to automate repeatable engineering and operational tasks using scripting
  • Ability to analyze system requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Experience developing and maintaining technical and operational documentation
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across development, operations, security, and engineering teams

Desired Skills

  • Experience with GitLab CI/CD or similar pipeline platforms
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible
  • Experience with Kubernetes orchestration and Helm-based deployments
  • Experience with Docker and container image management

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability
Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029
Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
