Here’s What Your Day-to-Day Might Include

  • Architecting and implementing production-ready AI systems that scale and perform reliably under operational pressure.

  • Designing sophisticated agent orchestration systems to coordinate multiple AI models and tools.

  • Building fault-tolerant API integration layers that gracefully handle failures and edge cases.

  • Developing advanced prompt engineering strategies and reusable patterns tailored for cyber mission workflows.

  • Leading technical exploration into novel AI/ML applications for cyber operations.

  • Creating and maintaining MCP server implementations that serve as foundational infrastructure.

  • Mentoring junior engineers while continuing to deliver high-impact code.

  • Driving architecture and design discussions that balance innovation with mission reliability.

  • Engaging directly with mission stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into transformative AI solutions.

  • Delivering proof-of-concepts that showcase capabilities once thought impossible.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Clearance: Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (must be active – we cannot sponsor clearances).

  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen (we cannot sponsor visas).

  • Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with 12+ years of software engineering experience, or

    • 16+ years of relevant experience without a degree.

Required Skills

  • Deep expertise in Python and production-grade software engineering.

  • Proven experience building and deploying AI-powered applications in production.

  • Advanced understanding of modern AI architectures (agents, RAG, chains, function calling).

  • Experience integrating multiple AI services and managing their failure modes.

  • Strong background with MCP servers or equivalent model serving infrastructure.

  • Expertise in prompt engineering with demonstrable real-world results.

  • Experience designing resilient distributed systems and managing async workflows.

  • Strong debugging skills, especially with non-deterministic AI behaviors.

  • Track record of solving novel, unsolved technical problems and delivering operational results.

Desired Qualifications

  • Direct experience applying AI to cybersecurity or intelligence use cases.

  • Contributions to major AI frameworks or tools.

  • Experience fine-tuning models for specialized domains.

  • Background in building developer platforms or tools.

  • Knowledge of adversarial AI and security considerations for AI systems.

  • Published research, presentations, or community involvement in applied AI.

  • Experience leading technical initiatives in highly ambiguous environments.

  • Familiarity with cloud computing technologies (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Experience with web application/UI development.

Compensation Range: $199,000.00 - $262,000.00 

*The salary range provided reflects an estimate based on current market trends and may be adjusted based on factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. The final offer will be tailored after a thorough evaluation of the candidate’s background and suitability for the role. Please note that this range is intended as a guideline and is subject to flexibility.
