We’re looking for a Software Engineer (SWE-2) to join our GHOSTGEM program, supporting the development, sustainment, and integration of cutting-edge applications such as JEDIPOWER and DINO. If you’re excited about solving complex challenges in Linux environments, working with cloud and containerized systems, and seeing your code directly impact mission success—this is the role for you.

Here’s What Your Day-to-Day Might Include

  • Designing, developing, testing, and integrating software solutions for mission-critical applications.

  • Sustaining and troubleshooting GHOSTGEM’s software suite, including JEDIPOWER/DINO and future mission capabilities.

  • Automating workflows and processes using Bash and Python scripting.

  • Building and maintaining applications with Java and the Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Integration).

  • Working with both SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.

  • Developing and deploying containerized solutions with Docker or containerd.

  • Leveraging messaging frameworks such as RabbitMQ and Kafka for scalable communication.

  • Supporting CI/CD pipelines with tools like Bamboo and GitLab CI.

  • Applying Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles using Ansible.

  • Collaborating with teammates and stakeholders in an Agile environment, using tools like Git, JIRA, and Confluence.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Clearance: Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (active). We do not have the ability to sponsor clearances.

  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen. We cannot sponsor visas.

  • Education & Experience:

    • Master’s degree in Computer Science (or related) + 3 years SWE experience, OR

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related) + 5 years SWE experience, OR

    • 7 years of SWE experience in programs of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency with Linux CLI.

  • Scripting experience with Bash and Python.

  • Recent Java development experience in a Linux environment.

  • Strong knowledge of the Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Integration).

  • Experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB.

  • Hands-on experience with Docker and containerd.

  • Familiar with messaging frameworks (RabbitMQ, Kafka).

  • Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines (Bamboo, GitLab CI).

  • Familiarity with IaC tools such as Ansible.

  • Proficient with Git source control.

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Kubernetes for container orchestration.

  • Experience creating Helm Charts to deploy services on Kubernetes.

  • Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence).

Compensation Range: $155,000.00 - $205,000.00 

*The salary range provided reflects an estimate based on current market trends and may be adjusted based on factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. The final offer will be tailored after a thorough evaluation of the candidate’s background and suitability for the role. Please note that this range is intended as a guideline and is subject to flexibility.
