Providing expert support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of large-scale Linux systems and associated infrastructure.
Handling Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem diagnosis, resolution, and communication with users and leadership.
Monitoring and managing compute, network, storage, and memory resources—ensuring stability, reliability, and security.
Installing, configuring, and supporting COTS/GOTS/FOSS software within Linux cluster environments.
Optimizing system operations through capacity planning, automation, and performance enhancements.
Configuring and managing both UNIX and Windows systems, including system security, network integrity, and OS enhancements.
Supporting design of mission architecture and hardware/software integration.
Collaborating with agency management and internal customers to provide analysis, troubleshooting, and status reporting.
Clearance: Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (must be active). We do not have the ability to sponsor clearances.
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen. We cannot sponsor visas.
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and 15 years of related experience. (Five years of additional Systems Administration experience may be substituted for a degree.)
Certification: Security+
Strong experience using the Linux CLI.
Proficiency with scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
Hands-on experience administering COTS/GOTS/FOSS software in large-scale Linux cluster environments.
Solid understanding of compute, network, memory, and storage system components.
Experience with Red Hat Satellite systems management.
Familiarity with Splunk for ingesting, indexing, monitoring, and analyzing large data sets.
Proven track record sustaining and supporting large Linux clusters, including troubleshooting and problem resolution.
Experience with VMware ESXi/Virtualization environments.
Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as SaltStack or Ansible.
Experience with corporate security compliance policies and procedures.
Familiarity with system monitoring tools such as HPE OneView and Nagios.
Experience with containerization technologies like Docker.
Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration technologies.
Familiarity with distributed file systems such as Weka, CEPH, GPFS, or HDFS.
Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira, Confluence).
Compensation Range: $171,000.00 - $225,000.00
