DevOps Software Engineer III - Fully Cleared

As a DevOps Software Engineer III, you will help design, build, and maintain a comprehensive distributed metrics and monitoring solution for High Performance Computing (HPC) systems. Your work will directly ensure the reliability, scalability, and resilience of the infrastructure that drives intelligence and national security operations.
Here’s What Your Day-to-Day Might Include
Designing, developing, and sustaining distributed monitoring and metrics solutions for HPC environments.
Leveraging Linux CLI and scripting to automate processes, reduce manual tasks, and improve operational efficiency.
Developing modern solutions in Python for automation and monitoring.
Integrating and working with Splunk for data collection, message brokers, data storage, and presentation.
Configuring and interfacing with log management tools such as Syslog-ng and rsyslog.
Implementing and supporting message brokers like Kafka.
Applying Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles using tools like Ansible.
Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in GitLab CI.
Collaborating in Agile development environments to ensure mission-focused delivery.
Minimum Qualifications
Clearance: Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (must be active). We cannot sponsor clearances.
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen. We cannot sponsor visas.
Education & Experience:
Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, plus 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, OR
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, plus 7 years of experience as a Software Engineer, OR
9 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
Required Skills
Strong experience with the Linux CLI.
Hands-on experience developing Bash scripts and using Linux tools to automate processes.
Recent software development experience in Python.
Experience with Splunk for data collection, storage, and visualization.
Proficiency with log management tools including Syslog-ng and rsyslog.
Hands-on experience with Kafka or other message brokers.
Strong understanding of IaC principles and automation using Ansible.
Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and pipelines, preferably using GitLab CI.
Proficiency with Git for source code management and team collaboration.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira, Confluence).
Familiarity with Elasticsearch for search and analytics.
Compensation Range: $179,000.00 - $237,000.00

The final offer will be tailored after a thorough evaluation of the candidate’s background and suitability for the role.
