About this Role:
As a Strategic Network Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network infrastructures for mission-critical projects. Your role will involve working with cutting-edge technologies to enhance telecommunications infrastructures across LAN, CAN, WAN, Voice, and Video systems. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to strategic modernization efforts, ensuring seamless network operations and delivering innovative solutions to complex challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, maintain, and upgrade network infrastructures, including LAN, CAN, WAN, Voice, and Video systems.
  • Analyze design documents, technical specifications, and translate business needs into comprehensive network requirements.
  • Manage network incidents, perform LAN/CAN/WAN administration, and ensure smooth network operations.
  • Coordinate network conversions, cutovers, and upgrades with stakeholders and responsible sites.
  • Develop and recommend network solutions to support strategic modernization initiatives.
  • Assist end-users, operations personnel, and program managers with network interfaces and troubleshooting.
  • Provide engineering analysis and ensure compliance with DoD and Information Assurance standards.

Key Technologies and Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of network protocols and LAN, CAN, WAN administration.
  • Proficiency in Voice and Video telecommunications systems.
  • Strong expertise in Cisco products, including configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience engineering medium to large-scale telecommunications infrastructures.
  • Familiarity with DoD 8570.01-M standards and IAT requirements.
  • Solid understanding of network incident management and resolution.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 8+ years of professional experience in network engineering.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, or a related discipline. (Five additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.)
  • Certifications:
    • Cisco certification is required.
    • IAT Level II baseline certification (per DoD 8570.01-M) is required.
  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or a related field may substitute for 2 years of required experience (reducing the required experience to 6 years).
  • Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph 
  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen
Compensation Range: $139,000.00 - $166,000.00
*The salary range provided reflects an estimate based on current market trends and may be adjusted based on factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. The final offer will be tailored after a thorough evaluation of the candidate’s background and suitability for the role. Please note that this range is intended as a guideline and is subject to flexibility.
