This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic group of professionals, building and scaling a Kubernetes environment to support ANSWERLAKE services across multiple platforms.

About this Role:
As a Technical Systems Engineer, you will be an integral part of our existing DevOps team, focusing on building, maintaining, and enhancing a robust Kubernetes infrastructure. You will play a critical role in configuring network policies within clusters, ensuring system sustainment and compliance, and supporting security protocols. You will also collaborate with other technical teams to implement solutions and streamline processes to optimize system performance and security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain Kubernetes infrastructure for hosting services across multiple platforms.
  • Configure network policies within the Kubernetes clusters to ensure secure and optimized communication between services.
  • Manage system sustainment tasks such as patching and SSP (System Security Plan) management.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate STE/STN security policies and procedures.
  • Use the Atlassian tool suite (Confluence, Jira, etc.) for task tracking, documentation, and project management.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to resolve system issues and implement improvements.
  • Monitor system performance and identify areas for optimization.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of security policies and procedures.

Key Technologies and Skills:

  • Proficiency in Linux Command Line Interface (CLI).
  • Extensive experience with building and managing Kubernetes infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with configuring network policies within Kubernetes clusters.
  • Expertise in system sustainment and compliance tasks (system patching, SSP management).
  • Experience with security compliance policies and procedures, particularly in a corporate environment.
  • Proficiency with the Atlassian suite (Confluence, Jira, etc.).
  • Experience or understanding of tools such as Terraform, Salt, and Ansible.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes-related tools like Rancher and Helm.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and visualization tools such as Elasticsearch, Kibana, and Grafana.

Qualifications:

  • Security+ certification or equivalent, preferably CWIP.
  • Proven experience in DevOps and system administration roles.
  • Solid understanding of cloud technologies, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph 
  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen
Compensation Range: $152,000.00 - $201,000.00
