Schedule and Work Details
Location: Government site (Fort Meade area)
Schedule: Full-time, standard day schedule
Clearance: Active Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (required)
Here's What Your Day-to-Day Might Look Like
You’ll work alongside a collaborative Agile team modernizing a complex operational system using microservices and modern cloud technologies. Your day will include a mix of hands-on development, automation work, and coordination with engineers and stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.
Typical responsibilities include:
Developing Java Spring Boot microservices using AWS native services
Building RESTful APIs capable of handling complex data selection and filtering
Using Python to automate and optimize AWS resources such as Lambda, Step Functions, EC2, and S3
Supporting a distributed microservices architecture
Implementing CI/CD pipelines using Maven, GitLab, and GitOps practices
Participating in Agile development cycles and iterative releases
Collaborating closely with teammates to refine requirements and deliver solutions
Ensing applications meet performance, reliability, and security expectations
Minimum Qualifications
Clearance: Active Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (required)
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline from an accredited college, OR equivalent experience
At least 9 years of relevant experience, OR a Master’s degree with at least 7 years of relevant experience
Active Top Secret clearance with CI polygraph issued within the last 5 years
Required Skills
Candidates should demonstrate experience in at least two of the following areas:
Java Spring Boot and/or Python development
JSON Schema design and implementation
Microservices architecture development
CI/CD tools and practices including AWS tooling, Maven, GitLab, GitOps, Kubernetes, Docker, or Ansible
NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or DynamoDB, including query development and schema design
OAuth or OIDC implementation
Automated testing frameworks such as Cypress or Cucumber
Desired Skills
Experience modernizing legacy systems into cloud-native platforms
Familiarity with container orchestration and DevOps practices
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and stakeholders
Technology Stack
This role leverages Java Spring Boot microservices, Python automation, AWS cloud services including Lambda, Step Functions, EC2, S3, and DynamoDB, REST APIs, Maven build tools, GitLab and GitOps pipelines, container platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes, configuration tools like Ansible, JSON schema validation, OAuth/OIDC security frameworks, and automated testing tools such as Cypress and Cucumber.
Compensation Range: $169,000.00 - $218,000.00
*The salary range provided reflects an estimate based on current market trends and may be adjusted based on factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. The final offer will be tailored after a thorough evaluation of the candidate’s background and suitability for the role.
