We are seeking a Level 2 Software Engineer (SWE) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining a centralized web-based interface to control and monitor large-scale high-performance computing systems. Your work will directly enhance system performance, improve user interaction, and support mission-critical operations. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment with exposure to advanced tools and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance specifications.
  • Design, develop, and maintain web-based user interfaces for high-performance computing systems.
  • Develop and implement REST APIs for seamless communication between systems and applications.
  • Create, manage, and troubleshoot containerized applications using Podman or Docker.
  • Utilize CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, integration, and deployment processes.
  • Write and maintain technical documentation, ensuring clarity and precision.
  • Debug existing software to resolve defects and improve functionality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system requirements and operational specifications are met.
  • Employ infrastructure-as-code (IaC) principles to streamline system provisioning and configuration.

Key Technologies and Skills

Required Skills

  • Proficiency with Linux CLI.
  • Strong experience in Python development within a Linux environment.
  • Expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular.
  • Knowledge of designing, implementing, and consuming REST APIs.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and methodologies, such as GitLab CI.
  • Proficiency with IaC tools, including Ansible.
  • Expertise in SQL technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MariaDB.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Podman or Docker.
  • Experience using Git for version control.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with metrics visualization tools such as Grafana or Kibana.
  • Proficiency with the Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira, Confluence).

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree: In Computer Science or related discipline, plus three (3) years of experience as a SWE in programs of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Bachelor’s Degree: In Computer Science or related discipline, plus five (5) years of experience as a SWE in programs of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • No Degree Alternative: Seven (7) years of experience as a SWE in programs of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph 
  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen
Compensation Range: $155,000.00 - $205,000.00 *
*The salary range provided reflects an estimate based on current market trends and may be adjusted based on factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. The final offer will be tailored after a thorough evaluation of the candidate’s background and suitability for the role. Please note that this range is intended as a guideline and is subject to flexibility.
