Here’s What Your Day-to-Day Might Look Like
You will be immersed in the development and sustainment of a complex mission software ecosystem. A typical day may include:
Designing, developing, and integrating new features into mission applications
Troubleshooting production issues and resolving defects in operational systems
Writing Python and Bash code to support automation and platform functionality
Deploying and maintaining containerized services in Kubernetes environments
Collaborating with system engineers, analysts, and mission stakeholders
Integrating COTS, GOTS, and open-source components into existing solutions
Supporting CI/CD pipelines and automated build processes
Enhancing system performance, reliability, and scalability
Documenting changes and contributing to technical planning discussions
Your work will span the full software lifecycle, from concept to deployment to sustainment.
Minimum Qualifications
Clearance: Active Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (required)
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen
Education and Experience (SWE-3 equivalent):
Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 5 years of relevant experience
ORBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 7 years of relevant experience
OR9 years of Software Engineering experience on programs of similar scope, type, and complexity
Required Skills
Strong Linux command-line proficiency
Software development experience with Python (3.x)
Bash scripting experience
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or containerd
Experience deploying and managing services in Kubernetes environments
Familiarity with Helm charts for Kubernetes deployments
Experience working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
Knowledge of messaging frameworks such as RabbitMQ
Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools such as GitLab CI
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Ansible
Experience using Git for source control
Ability to troubleshoot complex systems in operational environments
Willingness to learn new languages or technologies, including Rust
Desired Skills
Experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL
Familiarity with Atlassian tools including Jira and Confluence
Experience supporting large-scale distributed systems
Background in mission or intelligence environments
Technology Stack
This role works across a modern mission technology stack that includes Linux-based systems, Python, Bash scripting, Rust concepts, MongoDB and PostgreSQL databases, Docker and containerd, Kubernetes orchestration with Helm, RabbitMQ messaging, GitLab CI/CD pipelines, Ansible infrastructure automation, Git source control, and integration with COTS, GOTS, and open-source software components.
Compensation Range: $183,000.00 - $235,000.00

The final offer will be tailored after a thorough evaluation of the candidate’s background and suitability for the role.
