About this Role:
As a Cloud Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in managing large clusters that support data-intensive computing, including Apache Accumulo environments. You will be responsible for the installation, configuration, tuning, and ongoing management of tools required for these environments. Additionally, you will handle monitoring, troubleshooting, and sustainment to ensure the stability and performance of these mission-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and manage large data-intensive computing clusters, such as Apache Accumulo.
- Maintain tools required for a cloud environment, ensuring operational efficiency and reliability.
- Monitor the health of the cloud environment, identifying and resolving issues and trouble tickets promptly.
- Troubleshoot and implement network solutions for high-performance systems.
- Manage containerization and orchestration technologies to streamline workflows and operations.
- Utilize configuration management tools to automate and optimize system setups.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, implement, and maintain compliance for multi-system networks.
Key Technologies and Skills:
Required Skills:
- Expertise in containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher).
- Experience with job scheduling frameworks (e.g., Slurm, SGE).
- Proficiency in managing Network-Attached Storage (e.g., NetApp).
- Strong knowledge of configuration management tools such as Puppet, Salt, or Ansible.
- Proficiency in scripting languages including Bash, Lua, Perl, Python, and Ruby for automation.
- Extensive experience with Linux/UNIX-based operating systems for planning, implementing, and managing multi-system networks.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and implement solutions for high-performance systems, including Cisco network equipment.
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with Apache Accumulo and its ecosystem.
- Advanced knowledge of network troubleshooting and performance optimization.
- Experience with large-scale, high-performance data environments.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience writing automation scripts using Bash, Lua, Perl, Python, or Ruby within the last ten (10) years.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience planning, implementing, and managing multi-system networks with Linux/UNIX-based operating systems within the last ten (10) years.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience troubleshooting and implementing solutions for complex systems composed of Cisco equipment within the last ten (10) years.
- Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen
Compensation Range: $143,000.00 - $189,000.00 *
