Experienced Network Engineer II- Fully Cleared/Parttime (Prime)

About the Role:
As a Network Engineer, you will play a vital role in the full lifecycle of network services, from design through implementation and ongoing maintenance. You will be responsible for analyzing design documents, translating business needs into network requirements, and coordinating with users and sites to resolve network incidents. This role requires expertise in engineering medium to large-scale network infrastructures and a deep understanding of LAN, CAN, WAN, Voice, and Video systems. Your work will support strategic modernization efforts to enhance telecommunications infrastructures, ensuring smooth network operations across diverse environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, maintain, and upgrade existing network infrastructures (LAN, CAN, WAN, Voice, and Video).
- Analyze design documents, technical specifications, and network requirements.
- Perform LAN/CAN/WAN administration and manage network incidents.
- Coordinate network conversions, cutovers, and upgrades with responsible users and sites.
- Translate business requirements into telecommunications network solutions and order requests.
- Provide engineering analysis and recommend network solutions to support strategic modernization initiatives.
- Assist end-users, operations personnel, and strategic program managers with network interfaces and troubleshooting.
- Expertise in network protocols and administration of LAN, CAN, and WAN networks.
- Proficient in Voice and Video telecommunications systems.
- Strong background in Cisco products, including configuration and troubleshooting.
- Experience with engineering large-scale telecommunications infrastructures.
- Knowledge of network incident resolution and management.
- Familiarity with DoD 8570.01-M standards and Information Assurance Technical (IAT) requirements.
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience in network engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, or related discipline (or 5 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree).
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or related field may substitute for 2 years of required experience (reducing required experience to 6 years).
- Cisco certification is required.
- IAT Level II baseline certification (per DoD 8570.01-M) is required
- Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen
