About this Role:
As a Mission Intelligence Data Engineer, you will join our Mission Intelligence (MI) team to support data engineering, analysis, and automation efforts. Your primary responsibility will be maintaining and advancing a mission-essential business intelligence platform that supports enterprise-wide, data-driven decisions. In this role, you will also design, develop, and integrate software solutions to analyze large data sets, establish mission cognizance, and provide mission-centric insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and improve a mission-essential business intelligence platform to ensure availability and performance.
  • Elicit requirements from stakeholders and analyze data to develop impactful solutions for delivering key metrics.
  • Design and implement ETL workflows to convert, normalize, and enrich large data sets.
  • Develop advanced analytics to combine, normalize, and interpret data for actionable insights.
  • Augment the existing platform with new tools, technologies, or capabilities.
  • Mentor junior software engineers and data scientists, fostering their technical growth.

Key Technologies and Skills:

  • Required:
    • Production-grade software development in Java and Python.
    • Experience deploying and maintaining Elastic Stack components (Elasticsearch, Kibana).
    • Familiarity with customer authentication and authorization platforms and standards.
    • Proficiency in ETL or data engineering platforms (e.g., Apache NiFi, AirFlow).
    • Service containerization and deployment experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
    • Proficiency in Git for version control.
    • Experience with Atlassian Tools (Jira, Confluence).
  • Nice to Haves:
    • Knowledge of map-reduce analytic environments (e.g., Hadoop).
    • Experience with cloud-based deployment environments (e.g., AWS).
    • Prototyping web applications using JavaScript.
    • Understanding of end-to-end SIGINT collection and analysis systems.
    • Experience with production CNO capabilities and operations.

Qualifications:

  • Years of Experience: 8+ years in a relevant technical role.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field).
    • Alternatively, 4 additional years of experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph 
  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen
Compensation Range: $138,000.00 - $182,000.00 *
*The salary range provided reflects an estimate based on current market trends and may be adjusted based on factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. The final offer will be tailored after a thorough evaluation of the candidate’s background and suitability for the role. Please note that this range is intended as a guideline and is subject to flexibility.
