Here’s What Your Day-to-Day Might Include
Leading and influencing technical direction through active participation in engineering and product leadership discussions.
Designing and validating architecture across infrastructure, AI integrations, and user interfaces to deliver coherent, scalable systems.
Translating product vision into actionable development plans that create compounding technical and business value.
Reviewing and writing production-grade code to set an uncompromising bar for quality, clarity, and maintainability.
Mentoring engineering teams, setting standards for best practices, and nurturing a culture of technical excellence.
Driving conversations that challenge assumptions and lead to breakthrough decisions in architecture, system design, and team structure.
Collaborating directly with customers to extract deep technical requirements and translate them into product innovations.
Advocating for continuous delivery, robust observability, and proactive systems resilience in all product environments.
Championing clarity in complex or ambiguous technical situations, and driving alignment across engineering efforts.
Building a culture that connects technical decisions directly to user value and long-term product success.
Minimum Qualifications
Clearance: Must be a U.S. Citizen
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and 12+ years of professional software engineering experience
OR 16+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
Required Skills
Deep experience across the software development lifecycle, with demonstrated impact on both product outcomes and technical culture.
Expertise in at least two core areas of modern stacks (e.g., backend, frontend, data systems, infrastructure, AI/ML).
Demonstrated success designing and deploying scalable, fault-tolerant systems in a production environment.
Proven ability to integrate AI/ML models or services into user-facing systems or workflows.
Strong architectural instincts and experience guiding teams through complex system design tradeoffs.
Excellent communicator capable of translating between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong track record of mentorship and technical leadership, elevating team performance and engineering standards.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and modern observability stacks (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus).
Strategic thinker who can align technical decision-making with long-term product and mission goals.
Comfortable navigating high ambiguity, distilling clarity, and making high-stakes decisions.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in the cybersecurity domain or other mission-focused sectors.
End-to-end experience delivering AI-powered products from prototype to production deployment.
Prior role as a Principal, Staff, or Lead Engineer in high-growth or mission-driven organizations.
Experience contributing to or maintaining open-source projects.
Familiarity with distributed systems, microservice architectures, and real-time processing platforms (e.g., Kafka, Flink).
Prior experience leading or managing remote/distributed engineering teams.
Strong technical writing or public speaking background (blogs, talks, whitepapers).
Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks and tooling relevant to cybersecurity and operational AI use cases.
Compensation Range: $171,000.00 - $226,000.00

The final offer will be tailored after a thorough evaluation of the candidate’s background and suitability for the role.
