About this Role

We are seeking a Level 2 Software Engineer (SWE) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will design, develop, test, and maintain complex and diverse software systems that support critical operations. You’ll work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to enhance system performance, develop innovative software solutions, and ensure seamless integration across a range of applications. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated engineer to contribute to impactful projects in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance specifications.
  • Design, code, and debug software to add new features or resolve defects.
  • Integrate and adapt existing software for new or modified systems and operating environments.
  • Develop simple data queries for databases and data repositories.
  • Create and review software and system documentation.
  • Use orchestration frameworks such as Spring and Kafka for development.
  • Collaborate with system engineers and hardware engineers to define software requirements and address project limitations.
  • Implement and refine algorithms to meet strict performance and functional standards.
  • Utilize container technologies like Docker and develop event-driven or data-driven analytics.
  • Develop, test, and deploy software solutions using agile development practices and continuous integration methodologies.

Key Technologies and Skills

Required Skills

  • Proficiency with Linux CLI and Bash scripting for process automation.
  • Software development experience in Python.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and analyzing tools such as Splunk and Elastic Stack.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Ansible.
  • Understanding of CI/CD principles and tools such as GitLab CI.
  • Proficiency with Git Source Control System.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence).
  • Familiarity with log management tools such as Syslog-ng.
  • Understanding of Kafka Messaging Framework.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree: Computer Science or related discipline, plus three (3) years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree: Computer Science or related discipline, plus five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • No Degree Alternative: Seven (7) years of experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • No Degree Alternative: Nine (9) years of relevant software engineering experience in similar programs and contracts.
  • Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph 
Compensation Range: $155,000.00 - $205,000.00 *
*The salary range provided reflects an estimate based on current market trends and may be adjusted based on factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. The final offer will be tailored after a thorough evaluation of the candidate’s background and suitability for the role. Please note that this range is intended as a guideline and is subject to flexibility.
