About this Role

As an Advanced CNO Reverse Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, prototyping, and integrating solutions to address complex mission requirements. This role focuses on reverse engineering network-based devices and developing impactful solutions. You will collaborate with analysts, operators, data scientists, and fellow engineers to provide tactical mission support, augment toolsets, and deliver cutting-edge solutions that align with mission constraints.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reverse engineer Linux-based network devices to identify vulnerabilities and create innovative solutions.
  • Augment and enhance existing toolsets for mission-critical applications.
  • Derive, document, and analyze mission requirements to ensure solutions meet operational needs.
  • Build prototypes to demonstrate understanding of requirements and feasibility.
  • Develop robust software systems in C, C++, Python, and Assembly.
  • Analyze and interpret network traffic using tools like Wireshark and a deep understanding of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP).
  • Provide support for deployed software systems and ensure continuous mission alignment.

Key Technologies and Skills

Required Skills

  • Proficiency with Unix-based systems.
  • Experience with reverse engineering Linux-based network devices.
  • In-depth understanding of network protocols and traffic analysis.
  • Development expertise in C, C++, Python, and Assembly.
  • Familiarity with Git and Subversion version control systems.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools, including Jira and Confluence.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with reverse engineering Windows or embedded platforms (e.g., RTOS).
  • Knowledge of additional programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell, Perl, C#, or Rust.
  • Experience developing CNO-specific software for Linux, Windows, or embedded applications.
  • Background in vulnerability research and exploit development.
  • Familiarity with end-to-end SIGINT collection and analysis systems.
  • Experience with production CNO capabilities and operations.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with 12 years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with 10 years of experience.
  • Substitution: Four additional years of software engineering experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph 
  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen
Compensation Range: $190,000.00 - $251,000.00 *
*The salary range provided reflects an estimate based on current market trends and may be adjusted based on factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. The final offer will be tailored after a thorough evaluation of the candidate’s background and suitability for the role. Please note that this range is intended as a guideline and is subject to flexibility.
